Corporate training vs motivational talks: what’s the difference?

You’ve probably seen it. A trainer comes in, the hall feels charged up for a day, and a week later everyone is back to old habits. I don’t offer motivation. I offer methodologies, scripts and workbooks so your team starts working on results and goals immediately.

My speciality is making complicated things easy to understand. I use very basic, everyday examples, like a college counsellor taking a parent’s call or a site executive calling back after a Sunday visit.

Sessions are hands-on. People practise the actual words they’ll use on the phone and at the counter. I write the scripts for your business, so nobody is reading from a generic template, and each person works through a workbook during the session.

Hospitals, clinics and IVF centres

Here I’d train the staff who speak to patients and families, for example at the front desk or in counselling. Think of an anxious family walking in to a long queue. The receptionist has a few seconds to set the tone. We can write a script for those few seconds and practise it until it sounds natural.

Colleges and educational institutions

The focus would be whoever answers enquiries, for example admissions counsellors and office staff. The first phone call from a parent often decides whether they visit the campus at all. We can script that call to end with a fixed date for a campus visit, instead of “we’ll call you back”.

Real estate sales teams

A good site visit without a proper follow-up rarely becomes a booking. With a real-estate team, we can work on the visit itself, the follow-up call and handling objections. For teams whose main job is selling, my sales training in Mysuru goes deeper.

Do you conduct corporate training outside Mysuru, across Karnataka?

Yes. I train teams in person anywhere in Karnataka from my base in Mysuru, and teams outside the state work with me live on Zoom.

Questions come up after the training, once your team starts using the scripts, and that’s when a trainer close by helps. I’m on KD Road in Mysuru, not a flight away, so a follow-up visit within Mysuru is easy to fit in.

Many front-line staff here are more comfortable in Kannada, and a script they can say naturally is one they’ll actually use.
